Coca-Cola Syrup – A Beverage for the Kidneys

Research and write about coca-cola syrup,

mentioned in over fifty Edgar Cayce readings, makes a case

carbonated drinks in general. About what Cayce said

they?

Several ARE members are familiar with the

readings may know that such soft drinks have been passed on

to as “slop.” Two readings using this are very descriptive

term. “No slop, or sweet drinks of any kind,

should be taken…” (5545-2) When prescribing a diet for

the midday meal, another reading said, “…and do not

drink a lot of slop in the form of drinks!” (542-1) But

despite this rather damaging controversy, at least seven

individuals were specifically advised to drink carbonated beverages

drinks, including coca-cola. However, there are many other

most of them were told to avoid them altogether, or to use them

they only in the form of syrup without the carbonation. In

one reads a mixture of half carbonated water with

half of clean water added to the syrup was recommended.

The word clean water was usually used to denote what

the cola syrup was to be mixed with it for consumption,

probably means pure water.

Carbonated: Yes or No?

Several statements in the readings express

certainly not going to be special stuff

eat – no explanation or reason given. Fortunately

we have access to other people’s readings to compare, contrast,

and “flesh out” those statements. In some cases,

then using the topic “coca-cola” as an example

an individual can be told that carbonated drinks

either right or not consumed at all, but coca-cola

it was fine if taken in moderation. Here are a few examples

from these readings:

“Carbonated drinks can be taken,

especially Coca-Cola or similar

derivatives. These will help especially in

cleaning the activity and coordinating

the same through the kidneys and the

abolish the system.” (849-26)

“Just leave off … the carbonated

waters, save Coca-Cola…” (1724-2)

“Stay away from any carbonated

waters, but sometimes, or rather

regularly – we’d take some Coca-

Cola. Here, with some actions

also, working on the ways to help in

relieves the tension there.” (584-8)

“When carbonated waters or drinking

are taken, either Dr. Pepper’s, or Coca-

Cola can be taken; but let it be like this

be rather as an additional drink and not as well

regularly – and about soft drinks be careful.”

(487-22)

“Soft drinks like Coca-Cola,

Cherry-Cola, Pepsi-Cola or none of them

the Cola drinks, can be imported

evaluation…” (1945-1)

Note that the last two sections contain one

the person was advised to “be careful”.

Sweet drinks (except Dr.

Pepper or Coca-Cola), and the second

they were told they were fit to eat

“in moderation.”

In fifty years old woman first

this proposal read:

“Any of the drinks where carbonated

waters are well used, especially

Coca-Cola or something like that – just

therefore no retention is used

preparing the same.” (1703-1)

In a two-month follow-up reading

later she asked why Coca-Cola and

carbonated drinks were good for her

and he received this answer: “To prevent

formation of gases in the system.”

(1703-2) This reason is rather surprising

because several people are experiencing

the opposite effect: carbonated drinks

tend to promote gas in their systems.

Carbonated drinks are “charged”

with carbon dioxide, colorless,

odorless, incombustible gas that is also a

respiratory output; the gas forms

the fizz and bubbles in these bogs

drinks.

As mentioned earlier, the majority

people were told to avoid such things

all beverages; however, one

an exception was made: for coca-cola the

syrup on its own without the carbonation

could be confused with plain

water According to specific readings,

such a combination is more beneficial,

helps distribution in general, and helps

detoxify the body. One reading,

5097-1, gave the mixture as “1/2 oz.

or 1 oz. of the syrup [added to] clear

water.” How much water will there be

reference is not used. Forward guidance

the bottle, bought in the gift

day, recommend 1 ounce dilution

syrup to 5 ounces of clear water,

or the syrup can be poured

crushed ice.

Indications for use

Several readings refer to Coca-Cola

as a motivator, who could

it is accepted if one wishes, even if it is inside

politeness “Taken when you are tired,

Very good; but don’t cry

slowly.” (257-167) The diluted syrup

“help clear the stream

through the kidneys” (2367-1), is

“helpful to the kidneys and the

cleansing the bloodstream” (2766-1),

or “he cleanses the functions of the kidneys

and bladder.” (3390-1) One reading

saying that this combination will “respond

with the rotation between the

the intestines and the liver, and they will separate

off much of the poison that will

be more beneficial to the activity

of the sensory system.” (5058-1)

It has beneficial effects for kidneys and

bladder disorders can result from the

syrup to be both “alkalizer and a

diuretic,” according to Edgar Cayce

Home Medicine Guidelines (p. 31).

How was this drink used?

“Take Coca-Cola as medicine, not as a drink.” (3412-1) This proposal

maybe it eases some anxiety

about its ingredients (see below) too

how to understand its useful purpose; therefore,

he had to be drunk sometimes, like the

assigned readings, or “three or four hours

per week” (3109-1) – he doesn’t even beat him

down like a thirsty mountain.

Historical Note

On May 8, 1886, Dr. John S.

Pemberton, apothecary, had a jug

of coca-cola syrup to Jacobs pharmacy

located in downtown Atlanta, Georgia.

The solution was mixed with carbonate

water, and customers paid 5 cents a

a glass for it. There were up to nine drinks a day

purchased in that year. The original drink

it was not minted, but sold with soda

a fountain Today 1.3 billion drinks of

Coca-Cola is sold every day in more than 200

countries around the world. What was the

ingredient in Dr. Pemberton’s syrup?

Today the label names these products:

high fructose corn syrup and/or sucrose,

water, caramel color, phosphoric acid,

natural flavors, and caffeine. there are

a warning given to those who have restricted sugar

diet for health care consultation

professional before taking it. Basically

the syrup has the same content as the

regular, non-diet cola soft drink, but minus

the carbonated water.

In an old notebook by Dr.

Pemberton found the original recipe.

Plus a variety of flavoring oils

orange, lemon, nutmeg, cinnamon,

coriander, and neroli – the ingredients too

including vanilla extract, lime juice, and

“FE Coco” (missed), which is a beer

extract from coca leaves. About 1901

the cocaine was removed from the drink;

It is believed to be due to the withdrawal

method used (mulching the leaf in 20

percent alcohol) that’s a 6-ounce bottle

It may not contain more than 8.5 mg

of cocaine. Dr. Pemberton felt that the

the invigorating effects of the drink came

the coca leaf, not just from the cocaine.

Taken in limited quantities, as the

readings suggest, as well as treated as a

medicine rather than acting

a drink definitely changes the scene

on this familiar and popular drink.
