Lina Leandersson – The Hypnotic Vampire
I saw this amazing movie two days ago. It is a classic romantic horror film that will leave a deep impression on your mind. The sleepy snowy city of Stockholm is projected like a dream. And the star of the movie is “Lina Leandersson”. She plays a 12-year-old vampire, “Eli”, who hasn’t aged in 200 years since she was 12. One look at the girl and you will agree with me that no one could have portrayed the role so beautifully. She looks every bit the luscious, kind and beautiful vampire expected of her.
Her deep dark blue eyes are almost hypnotic. Lina Leandersson showed tremendous maturity in the film. He befriends another 12-year-old male “Oskar”-Kare Hedebrant. Both have loneliness and sadness in common. Their friendship culminates in love and both cannot be without each other. Lina plays a mature, seductive young girl who inspires Oskar to deal with his school bullies. But “Eli” needs human blood to survive and kills an innocent human being every night to quench his thirst. Oskar, who gets charmed by Eli, ends up helping her in these murders.
The ending of the film is quite debatable and really makes the viewer think. Finally, the school bullies try to drown Oskar in the pool. But in the next moment, Eli comes and saves him by killing all the bullies. And then Oskar drops everything and goes with Eli on the train. Anyone would think it was a happy ending. But what the film’s director says in the interview is that the final scene is actually Oskar’s fantasy and he actually dies in the pool. Then Eli comes to him, gets contaminated with vampire blood, and the two remain a vampire couple forever.
Although there is violence in the film, it is projected in such a way that the audience always prays for the survival and happiness of the bloody vampire Eli. Everyone knows Eli is wrong, but they find themselves sympathizing with her difficult life. Lina just makes every boy want a companion like Eli to complete his life
His shot is almost like a dream sequence and he manages to bridge the gap between “ETERNAL LOVE and VIOLENCE”.
