Focus on the emotional experience of the film and not on what is actually happening. Women don’t watch movies because of what’s going on. Usually nothing happens. Especially not compared to movies about guys.

Movies for guys are all about change and good versus evil. Heavy stuff.

Beautiful woman on the other hand, it’s about a woman who starts out as a prostitute and ends up finding love with the extremely rich and handsome Richard Gere. He’s seriously lame.

But think about what that says about women’s psychology. Cinderella…sure. She had to clean up after everyone. That’s WAAAAAY different from sexting guys for money on the streets of LA.

What do women identify with? Beautiful woman, really? How often do you go out with prostitutes-yeah, exactly. So what does this tell you about what women want?

Everyone wants to get paid for sex. Well, no. The point of the film is that women don’t want to be judged. Despite the fact that she will do sexual acts that many women would NEVER, EVER do for the amount of money you have in your wallet right now, she doesn’t want to be thought otherwise.

In fact, she only gets really angry when Richard Gere treats her like a prostitute OUTSIDE THE BEDROOM. And that’s something every woman can relate to – the desire to be in the right place at the right time (of course, being Richard Gere doesn’t hurt either).

And now we get to it Titanic. It’s about a sinking ship. If this were a guy’s movie, it would be all about the massive but futile effort to save the ship and as many people as are on it – the heroism of fighting the inevitable. But it’s not. Instead of chronicling the various heroics of people trying to save their lives and the lives of others, it is about one woman’s experience with love in these brief moments.

How sweet.

What’s the experience like and how did Jack slip in and get those goodies from under the upturned noses of high society? By giving her the exact opposite of what Richard Gere gives Julia Roberts (this stuff can be confusing).

While Julia is ‘dressing up’, shopping on Rodeo drive, going to tea and polo, Jack has Rose spitting over the boat rail, posing naked, drinking beer and dancing low class jigs – she ‘does it’.
