Gossip Girl Episode 2 – The Wild Brunch
The episode opens with Dan pointing out how his date with Serena ended, Serena doing the same with her brother Eric. Everyone else is busy preparing for the annual Bass brunch, and Serena makes the first move to patch things up between her and Blair. When Serena goes to try to make things right with Blair, Blair tells her that she already knows about Serena and Nate.
Jenny goes to see Blair to see if Chuck is talking about the night at the party, and ends up leaving in original Waldorf clothes. Lily goes to talk to Rufus about Dan seeing Serena and tells him she doesn’t want another guy to distract her. Dan heads to the palace to wait for Serena and is soon joined by Nate, but things don’t go so well when Dan discovers that The Palace is owned by the Chucks family.
Serena tells her mother that she will only go to Brunch if Dan is allowed to go with her, but no one there is happy to see them. However, soon after, Nate, Blair, and Serena all end up in Chucks room, and Blair is very angry with the two of them. Blair runs to find Dan so she can tell him about Serena and Nate, and things get heated between the four of them at brunch. Chuck enters and insults Jenny and prompts Dan to push him, causing a scene at the brunch.
Serena and Dan end up arguing outside the hotel and Dan tells Serena that she is not the girl he thought she was. Nate and Blair end up talking and Nate asks Blair to forgive him so they can move on, Blair does. As the show ends, we get a pretty good idea of where Jenny stands in Blair’s world, or at least where she’ll fit in from here on out.
